Shepherd Tax Preparation Service

Let our IRS Trained and Certified Volunteers help prepare your Free Tax Return.

The Shepherd Tax Preparation Service Inc was founded in 2021, is a non-profit organization providing Free tax service to the community by partnering with the United Way of Greater Atlanta (UWGA) Community Engagement, and IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Serving Rockdale County, Newton County and surrounding Counties providing Free tax return services to qualified taxpayers, Individuals, Families, Persons with disabilities; and limited English-speaking taxpayers, low to moderate income of 67,000 or less.

The Shepherd Tax Preparation service, Inc., saving moderate to lower-income families the cost of paying for tax preparation service. Ensuring working families receive the valuable tax credits they deserve, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC). Helping families keep most of their tax refund.

While the IRS manages the VITA programs, the VITA sites are operated by IRS partners and staffed by volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities.

VITA services are not only Free, they are also a reliable and trusted source for preparing Free Taxes. All VITA volunteers who prepare returns must take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards. This training includes maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all taxpayer information. In addition to requiring volunteers to certify their knowledge of the tax laws, the IRS requires a quality review check for every return prepared at a VITA site prior to filing.

We maintain a non-discrimination policy that does not discriminate based on race, cultural heritage, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran status, or status as a qualified disabled or handicapped individual.
