Newton County Senior Services mission is to provide recreation, wellness, and supportive services, allowing senior citizens to remain independent and self-sufficient in their communities. 
 
Newton County Senior Services is a Recreation and Information Center for seniors in Newton County who are 55 plus. Definitely a place where age is not just a number. The Senior Center provides a wide variety of wellness, leisure,
and social opportunities for residents of Newton County.

Eligible seniors 55 and older desiring to participate in the activities and programs must be registered.  There are available funded programs as well for seniors 60 plus, residents of Newton County and member of the Newton County Senior Service.

 (2021 Tax Season, January 18, 2022 - April 18, 2022)  The Newton County Senior Services allowed the Shepherd Tax Preparation Service, Inc. to use their facility for the 2021 Tax Season to prepare free tax returns.  We served the Newton County and surrounding counties providing free basic tax return services to qualified elderly, individuals, families, those disabled and with limited English speaking, low to moderate income of $57,000 or less.
